About Us

Allocean Maritime Investments Ltd is an independent investment banking and asset management firm focused on the maritime and energy sectors.

 

The principal areas of our investment banking business are capital raising and advisory services. We have raised over US$2 billion of capital through debt, equity and leasing structures and have served as a strategic advisor on capital raising, M&A and joint-venture transactions.

 

As a maritime asset manager we have experience in providing commercial, technical and administration management for more than 40 commercial vessels across all the main sectors.

 

Allocean Americas LLC was set up in 2024 to expand our asset management capabilities into project management services, including refit and repair, equipment procurement, logistics support, project supervision and consultancy, with an initial focus on North and Central America.

Our professionals have substantial and successful international experience in assisting shipping companies, banks, family offices, institutional and private investors in structuring optimal financial and technical solutions.

 

Allocean was initially established in the UK in 2012 and is based in London and East Coast USA.

Lease financing for 16 x Containerships (1,000 – 4,400 TEU), 5 x Product Tankers (40,000-47,000dwt), 4 x Multi-Purpose Vessels (20,000dwt), 3 x Bulk Carriers (Capesize & Panamax), Fleet of Crew Transfer Vessels, Suezmax tanker, Chemical Tanker (37,000dwt), 2 x Offshore Vessels (PSV & AHTS).

 

Debt finance for 6 x Bulk Carriers (Capesize & Handysize), Aframax tanker, Livestock Carrier, Multi-Purpose Vessel (10,000dwt), Bunker Trading company, $246m portfolio facility.

 

Equity Raising for distressed market containership project ($80m), dry bulk trading platform ($50m), maritime investment fund IPO ($150m).

Senior Management 

​

Braden Harris - Managing Director, Allocean Maritime Investments Ltd:

Braden is a founding partner of Allocean. With over 30 years’ experience in investment, financing and operating maritime and other transportation, energy and infrastructure assets, he is responsible for sourcing and leading transactions and oversees the asset management function. Braden was previously a partner & shareholder in Cleaves (a financing & shipbroking group) where he led several shipping limited partnership and advisory transactions with a value in excess of US$800m. As a partner in Allco, an Australian investment manager, he set up 2 shipping companies funded by 3rd party investors and arranged financing for over US$1 billion of new vessels. Braden started his career as an analyst for 4 years with Babcock & Brown; he then spent 3 years in Paris as a VP at Jet Finance and 5 years at ANZ Investment Bank, including heading the Asian structured finance business.  Braden is a graduate of City, University of London, Bayes Business School.

David Dolan - Management Board Member, Allocean Americas LLC:
For nearly 30 years, David has led ship management operations for shipping companies, handling all types of vessels, from polar to subsea. His principal areas of focus are internal leadership functions within the companies and external third-party supervision. His activities have expanded to partnerships with vessel owners, handling shipboard/shore-side procurement, manning/crewing, technical management, and executive leadership.
David has earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Toronto, a Master’s degree in transportation management from the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College and holds an unlimited U.S. Coast Guard Second Mates license. He is also ISO 9001-2015, ISM/ISPS and ISO 14001-2015 certified as a lead auditor.

 

​Robert Coulter - Management Board Member & General Counsel, Allocean Americas LLC:
Robert is a corporate attorney in private practice acting as outside general counsel and offering legal and business advisory services to select clients accepted only by referral. His experience includes working in two large international law firms where his practice concentrated on mergers and acquisitions, equity financings and recapitalizations, and other complex transactions. Robert also served as general counsel and chief compliance officer in-house at a $200 million multinational insurer. Rare among corporate lawyers, Robert also has diversified litigation experience and substantial non-legal financial and managerial experience. His business group offers a range of services including strategic planning, management consulting, project management/ support, and executive coaching.
Robert is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point as an exchange student. He obtained his J.D. from Roger Williams University. Robert also holds Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Policy degrees from the University of Chicago.

 

Jonathan Bloohn - Compliance Officer, Allocean Maritime Investments Ltd:

Jonathan is a British solicitor with over 34 years of international legal experience specialising in data protection, regulatory compliance and fintech within global financial services. Jonathan has a distinguished record advising senior executives and leading multi-jurisdictional legal teams on complex legal risks, governance, and cross-border compliance. His expertise includes GDPR compliance, privacy law, and anti-money laundering regulations acting as Allocean’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). Currently also a Legal Director at Citi, Jonathan supports initiatives in global markets and securities services with a focus on emerging technologies such as AI, market data, and digital assets. His career spans senior roles within financial institutions and technology firms, managing regulatory frameworks, contract negotiations, and data privacy programs. Jonathan holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science & Information Systems from City University, as well as his professional legal qualifications. Active in professional legal and industry committees, he is recognised for aligning legal strategy with innovation and regulatory demands.
